This Is Not the Future We Were Promised

We were promised possibility.
We were raised on anthems of peace, slogans of progress, and dreams we could taste.
We were told education would open doors,
That our vote would count,
That God was watching.
But what we got instead was betrayal in suits,
Taxes for survival,
Silence in power,
And blood on the streets.
This is not the future we were promised.
And itβs not the future we will settle for.
π Why We Must Say This Now

Thereβs a deep, collective grief in Kenya right now.
Not just from the protests or policies
But from a sense of betrayal that sits in the soul.
- We were told this nation was ours.
- That hard work would pay off.
- That democracy meant voice.
- That the church would protect truth.
- That the youth would be the future.
But none of that is being honored.
And now, a generation is rising
Not because they hate Kenya,
But because they remember what Kenya was supposed to be.
π§ 4 Truths We Can No Longer Ignore
𧩠1. A Nation That Breaks Its Promises Will Eventually Break Its People
What happens when hope becomes a lie?
When every βplanβ is a scheme?
When every βleaderβ is a brand?
People lose faith.
Not just in systems- but in themselves.
And thatβs the real tragedy:
This country is teaching its children to stop dreaming. That is soul murder.
𧩠2. This Generation Isnβt Entitled- Itβs Tired

They say Gen Z wants too much.
That weβre loud.
Ungrateful.
Unrealistic.
But look deeper:
Weβre the children of parents who sacrificed everything
Only for us to inherit corruption, debt, and silence.
We donβt want handouts.
We want honor.
We donβt want chaos.
We want a chance.
𧩠3. Every Broken System Was Built- And Can Be Rebuilt
Nothing about this nationβs pain is permanent.
It was built by decisions,
Protected by silence,
And upheld by fear.
But it can be undone.
Rewritten.
Restored.
This is the work of a true generation.
Not to inherit a broken world,
But to refuse it, dismantle it, and resurrect something better.
𧩠4. Itβs Not Too Late- Unless You Stay Silent
We are not too young.
Not too late.
Not too angry.
We are right on time.
But what happens next is up to us:
- Will we keep reposting and forget?
- Will we retreat into fear?
- Or will we remember who we are, and why we came?
This was never just a protest.
This is a remembrance.
π― What This Blog Leaves You With
This is not just about fighting a system.
Itβs about reclaiming a promise.
We must:
- Teach what was stolen.
- Heal what was silenced.
- Build what was denied.
- Forgive- but never forget.
We are not the generation that watched the nation fall.
We are the generation that refused to let it die.
π ASI Standpoint
We, at Awakening Souls Institute,
Refuse the lie that this is the best we can do.
We reject the small vision sold to a great people.
We remember the covenant of this land
Not with politics,
But with destiny.
Kenya was never meant to bow.
It was born to rise.
And we,
The watchers, the builders, the fire-bringers,
Will not rest until that promise is fulfilled.
